ChildLock

Support — ChildLock for Android

Need help with ChildLock on your Android phone? Email help@childlock.xyz, or use Help in the app's Parent Profile. Include your phone model, Android version, ChildLock version, and what you expected to happen. Never send passwords or payment details.

How do I set up ChildLock?

Install ChildLock from Google Play, create your child's profile, pick their first channels, choose the apps to block, and confirm your fingerprint. The app then asks for the permissions below.

Why does ChildLock need these permissions?

All of this runs on the phone. You can turn any permission off in Android Settings at any time, but blocking stops working without the first two.

My phone has no fingerprint set up.

ChildLock unlocks only with a fingerprint enrolled on the phone. Add one in Android Settings → Security → Fingerprint, then open ChildLock again.

How do I choose which apps get blocked?

Open the Parent Profile (your fingerprint is required), go to the blocked apps list, and select the apps your child shouldn't open. Changes apply right away.

How do I add or remove channels my kid can watch?

Open your child's profile. To add: search for any YouTube channel, or tap one of the age-appropriate suggestions. To remove: tap the channel in the approved list and confirm.

My kid's session ended — how do I extend it?

Pick up the phone, touch the fingerprint sensor, and choose a duration. Only the enrolled fingerprint can extend a session.

Blocked apps open without the lock screen.

Some phones (Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Samsung and others) stop background apps aggressively. Check that Usage access and Display over other apps are on, set ChildLock's battery usage to "Unrestricted", and allow autostart if your phone has that setting. If it still happens, send feedback from the app so we receive your phone's diagnostics.

How do I cancel a subscription or get a refund?

Purchases on Android are billed by Google Play. Manage or cancel at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, and request refunds from your Google Play order history. For billing questions, email subscriptions@childlock.xyz with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.).

What data do you collect about my child?

Your child's name, watch history, and session state stay on the phone. ChildLock sends pseudonymous usage events so we can fix bugs and improve the app. See our Android privacy policy for exactly what is sent.

My kid found a workaround.

We want to know. Email help@childlock.xyz with your phone model, Android version, ChildLock version, and the steps to reproduce — we treat lock bypasses as top-priority bugs.
